Dr. Rafeedie grew up in the Saint Louis, Missouri area.  He knew that he wanted to go into medicine, so upon graduating from High School, he enrolled into an EMT/Paramedic Course.  The next step in his journey took him to the U.S. Navy, where he worked as a hospital corpsman aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.  While in the Navy, he worked closely with the primary care physicians keeping the 5,000 sailors in working order.  After receiving an honorable discharge for his service, he returned to St. Louis to fulfill his dream of being a physician.  While working on his bachelor’s degree in biology at St. Louis University, he joined the ER Nursing staff at the University hospital. This allowed him to support himself as well as gain experience in the medical field.  Once he obtained his degree, he moved on to Medical school at Xavier University.  With the completion of his first 2 years of medical school, he then entered his clinical rotations at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  The final step, as we now know it, led him to a residency in family medicine at Mercer University/Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, GA.

On a personal note, Dr. Rafeedie is married to Natalia.  They celebrated the birth of their first child, Nicolas, on April 23, 2011.  Although Dr. Rafeedie enjoys spending time with his wife and son, he leads an active lifestyle which includes a daily attendance at the gym.   Aside from being a primary care physician, he is also certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist.  He regularly uses his knowledge of nutrition and fitness to benefit his patients.
